Getting Reaquainted With Family

Notes From the Midnight Driver Jordan Sonnenblick
Page 255

I am now almost done with my book. While reading, there was a big surprise that will definitaly affect the rest of the story. Earlier in the book Sol explains that he hasn't talked to his daughter in about 20 years because she is mad at him for something that happened in the past. At the end of the concert that Sol and Alex put on at the nursing home, the judge (that had sentenced Alex to work with Sol) runs up on stage crying. She turns out to be sol's daughter. I was not expecting an ending like this. I thought that sol and his daughter might reunnite by the end of the story but I wasnt expecting it to turn out like that. The judge had set up Alex to take care of her father so she could see how he was doing. I think that the author did a great job making the judge not to noticable so you would never really guess the ending. Have you ever read a book with an ending that completely threw you off what you were expecting?

Absolutely...nice twist. Sara, were there any little clues in the book to make this a possibility. That's where foreshadowing usually comes in.
